The Maternal Health App Offering Customized Care & Services That Mothers Need

THE MATERNAL HEALTH APP OFFERING CUSTOMIZED CARE & SERVICES THAT MOTHERS NEED

Mommy Monitor is a non-clinical maternal health app service that customizes maternal health care by organizing personalized services for preconception, prenatal and postnatal women.Through a combination of behavioral analysis, predictive analysis, patient navigation and case management, the app offers integrated health solutions to simplify the pregnancy process.

The Mommy Monitor App is currently being built in two phases and will:

  1.  Send data to users via notifications and text messages
  2.  Provide on demand Q&A forum for parents answered by student midwives
  3.  Analyze behavioral analysis data to identify risks and use predictive analysis to identify any pregnancy complications that users may be most susceptible to
  4.  Provide patient navigation by connecting women to a maternal mentor for education, support, mentorship and to deliver the maternal care package (list of resources identified to assist in reducing susceptibility to complications and general negative experiences)

MORE ABOUT MOMMY MONITOR

Mommy Monitor helps women understand how they can have a healthier and safer pregnancy from preconception to birth.  The specialist team of clinicians, midwives and doulas understands the current state of inequities in health care, and seeks to create the solutions that drive much-needed change.  Only through active, informed participation will patients feel empowered and safe, and engaging with different health care communities to share knowledge is key to achieving this. As such, Mommy Monitor improves the health of mothers by focusing on the four following values:

  1. Education
  2. Empowerment
  3. Cultural Competency
  4. Health Equity

Mommy Monitor’s January 2019 conference, Racialized Maternal Health Conference: Politics of the Black Pregnant Body, brought together care provider, student, policy, community and research perspectives on racialized maternal health care in Canada.
